This stunning collection of naturally embedded Quartz crystals was unearthed during a simple dig. Quartz is one of the most common minerals on Earth and can form in many areas, especially near volcanic rock or areas with significant mineral activity. These samples show signs of iron oxide (the reddish-brown coating), which is often found in our rich Caribbean soil.
Could it Be Quartz? Based on the glassy clarity, hexagonal structures, and clustered points, these pieces are very likely Quartz. Some may also be Citrine-tinted due to soil minerals or light iron inclusions.
🔮 How to Spot Crystals in Nature
When exploring clay hills or riverbeds in Trinidad, look for shiny, glassy surfaces—these may be quartz or calcite. Natural quartz appears clear, milky, or cloudy, often with sharp points or rusty clay stains from iron.
Crystal Cleaning Tip:
Rinse gently under running water. Use a soft brush for clay in crevices. Soak if needed—no harsh chemicals. Let it air dry briefly in sunlight (avoid long sun exposure for colored stones). Treat your finds with patience and care.
